Ultimately, the dignity of African peoples, national consciousness, and patriotism would be rooted in the creation of new ideas and values engendered by political action against the oppression of colonization and class society. By adapting Marxism to unique African conditions, creating a theory of change, organizing and educating a party, and leading the masses to make a revolution, Cabral accomplished nothing less than the Africanization of Marxism. Biko in a similar line of thought asserted, “we must relate the past to the present and demonstrate the historical evolution of modern Africa. We must reject the attempts by the authorities to project an arrested image of our culture.”
