Britain’s Foreign Office has organized a three-day Sudan conference, with a senior Rapid Support Forces (RSF) political representative and officials from the UAE participating, Middle East Eye (MEE) reported on 22 July.
The RSF delegate is Nasredeen Abdulbari, a leader within the paramilitary’s Tasis coalition, while Sudan’s army-backed government was not invited.
British government sources described the gathering to MEE as “discreet,” and although it does not appear on the schedule of Wilton Park – the West Sussex venue hosting it – a staff member working there confirmed the event is taking place.
Amgad Fareid Eltayeb, an advisor to Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), called it a pattern of complicity.
