OCHA noted that residents continue fleeing homes in several governorates in the country’s west and northwest regions, Taiz the most affected, accounting for two out of every five displacements recorded during that period.
The UN agency also warned of civilian casualties resulting from the intensification of the fighting.
The UN Human Rights Office reported that 69 deaths and 212 injuries have been documented since early August. More than a third of the victims were children.
The office said the United Nations and its partner organizations assist affected families, whenever security conditions permit, by distributing ready-to-eat food, hygiene items, and other emergency supplies.
