Bogota, Nov 6 (Prensa Latina) A quarrel of inmates took place in a unit downtown in this capital to which the police took citizens captured in flagrancy left one dead and nine wounded, according to local media today.

According to the Metropolitan Police of Bogota, cited by the newspaper El Espectador, among the injured there is one in serious condition.

What started as a fight apparently escalated into an attempted mutiny with knives and other blunt elements.

The Police had to activate an intervention operation that lasted for several hours, added the media.

On the deceased prisoner, the source investigated, authorities confirmed that he was charged with homicide and was awaiting progress in his judicial review.

The events took place in a center known as the Immediate Reaction Unit of the town of Puente Aranda.
