The event will take place between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. with the participation of 31 institutions offering workshops, guided tours, temporary exhibitions, concerts, and activities for audiences of all ages.

Organized since 2012 by the University of San Carlos Museum (MUSAC), the initiative aims to connect visitors with national heritage and highlight the influence of the past on contemporary Guatemala.

MUSAC will present performances of historical figures by the TGW Theater Group, as well as special tours, exhibitions, and the sale of traditional Guatemalan snacks for attendees.

The text reads, “Discover the beauty guarded by its walls and let yourself be captivated by Guatemala’s history! The magic ignites at Museum Night to invite you to explore every corner of the dazzling Legislative Palace.”

Among the participating venues are the Congress of the Republic, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, and the Popular University, which will open their doors to offer cultural and educational experiences throughout the evening.

The Holocaust Museum will promote reflection on historical memory through testimonies and content related to the groups persecuted during that period, including Jews and members of the Roma community.

Organizers hope to surpass the more than 71,800 attendees registered last year. The event, inspired by an initiative that began in Berlin in 1977, aims to attract new audiences to museums.
