Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun affirmed that Beijing-Havana cooperation is both legitimate and transparent.
Guo expressed China’s firm opposition to these illegal, unilateral sanctions, which lack any basis in international law and were not authorized by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
The spokesperson also rejected the so-called “long-arm jurisdiction” and Washington’s efforts to interfere with and obstruct cooperation between the two nations.
The official reiterated China’s support for Cuba’s efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and resist external interference.
Guo underscored that China will take all necessary steps to protect its companies’ legitimate rights and interests.
The statements came after the State Department announced new sanctions on two individuals and eight entities, including China National Electronic Import and Export Company (CEIEC) and Beijing H&C Technologies.
