The leader affirmed that Washington’s objective remains to achieve Iran’s surrender.

On Wednesday, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, asserted that the recent U.S. election results will not alter Washington’s policy toward the Islamic Republic and warned against relying on changes stemming from political shifts.

In a message released to mark the anniversary of the takeover of the U.S. embassy in Tehran, Khamenei maintained that those who expect a reduction in U.S. hostility toward Iran following internal political changes are mistaken.

The leader affirmed that Washington’s objective remains to achieve Iran’s surrender and rejected any possibility of making concessions that, in his view, could be interpreted as a sign of weakness in the face of the United States.

Khamenei further stated that any sign of submission would only lead to new demands, increased pressure, and potential aggression against the Iranian nation.

During his address, he also argued that the United States is undergoing a process of decline both militarily and in its international influence, a trend he described as irreversible.

Referring to the war that began on February 28, the Iranian leader stated that the events in the Strait of Hormuz have called into question Washington’s ability to protect its regional allies and maintain its hegemonic role.

These statements come amid escalating regional tensions and following the U.S. midterm elections, the results of which have reignited the debate about the future of relations between Washington and Tehran and the risk of further conflict escalation.
