HALF of women dealing with perimenopause or menopause say their career has suffered, according to a Scottish Widows survey.
Around three in 10 said their life stage had affected retirement savings, 17 per cent had taken time away from work to manage symptoms, 13 per cent reduced their hours, and 10 per cent turned down a promotion.
Data modelling found that a 50-year-old woman in full-time work taking a six-month unpaid break could cost £1,300 in pension contributions.
