Taddei Entered the INE Through a Random Selection Process in 2023, Not Through Appointment by Any Political PartyPresident Claudia Sheinbaum rejected impunity in the case of recently resigned National Electoral Institute (INE) president Guadalupe Taddei and demanded an audit of INE and Local Electoral Bodies (OPLE) contracts. Such contracts have been concentrated in two companies since 1999 due to institutional practices that promoted such behavior. She recalled that the INE president was elected by random selection because there was no agreement among the parties regarding a specific candidate profile. A video was shown of past INE president Lorenzo Córdova acknowledging the existence of the duopoly and stating that the Council he headed appointed Taddei to the Sonora OPLE in 2014.

Day of the Dead: The Pride of Being Mexican“Our vision comes from the Indigenous peoples,” Sheinbaum affirmed. The President noted that today 90% of the country’s citizens feel proud to be Mexican, in contrast to the erosion of identity during the neoliberal era.

From the 1988 Election Fraud to a Democracy Where the People RuleSheinbaum recalled that Cárdenas was robbed of his victory at the polls and defended the freedoms won by the people. The President criticized right-wing intellectuals Enrique Krauze and Héctor Aguilar Camín for longing for their checks and privileges. “We don’t buy people’s support. We are building a democratic country,” she explained.

40 Years of the CEU: The Power of Reason in Defense of the UNAMThe President recalled that the student movement, led by the University Student Council (CEU), in which she participated, democratically educated tens of thousands of young people. She championed dialogue, public debate, and reasoned arguments as tools to defend the university.
