17 October marked a turning point in the development of the class struggle. On that day, a vast number of workers joined the protests with the high school pupils and university students. Every sector of the economy was represented. The atmosphere was exceptionally radical. Many demonstrators were not merely demanding this or that measure, but a complete change of the government and the system – in short, a revolution.
