CUTTING energy bills should be Chancellor John Healey’s top priority in tomorrow’s Budget, polling for the End Fuel Poverty Coalition shows.
Nearly a quarter of people ranked reducing the cost of energy as their number one priority, ahead of increasing funding for the NHS and keeping taxes down.
Including second and third choices, 60 per cent put reducing energy costs in their top three.
About 67 per cent of adults — and 80 per cent among 45- to 54-year-olds — said they were worried about paying their energy bills if prices rise further in the new year.
