“Those of us who have worked alongside Mr. Phuc can attest to his expertise and the seriousness with which he has approached his professional career—a contribution that has been essential to the history of economic and cooperative relations between Vietnam and Cuba over the last few decades,” stated Perez-Oliva, who also serves as the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment.

“We feel even greater admiration and gratitude knowing that his professional performance has been accompanied by a genuine love for Cuba and its people,” added Perez-Oliva.

After reading the text of the commemorative plaque and paying tribute to him, Ambassador Polanco thanked Mr. Phuc for his dedication, loyalty, and commitment over the past four decades.

During the tribute, images were shown of Mr. Phuc’s work in supporting high-level delegations and business groups, facilitating the exchange of expertise, and assisting during sessions of the intergovernmental commission.

Several of his colleagues—who, like him, studied philology in Cuba during the 1980s—spoke to Prensa Latina, highlighting his high level of professional preparation and sensitivity, as well as the deep respect they hold for his work.
