Every day, President Claudia Sheinbaum gives a morning presidential press conference and Mexico Solidarity Media posts English language summaries, translated by Mexico Solidarity’s Pedro Gellert. Previous press conference summaries are available here.

Plan México Strengthens Domestic Industry and Creates JobsTwenty new industrial parks were announced, bringing the total to 100 as anticipated under Plan México. With more than US$670 million in investment and 32,000 jobs to be created, President Claudia Sheinbaum emphasized that Mexico is strengthening domestic production and reducing dependence on imports.

“Housing for Well-Being” Program Advances in GuerreroThe Fourth Transformation (4T) administration has reached the 26% mark toward its goal of 50,890 homes being delivered in the state of Guerrero, with thousands of units currently under construction. Nationwide, the Infonavit housing agency reports that more than 46,000 homes have been allocated in 157 housing developments.

Serious Intervention by Foreign Agents in ChihuahuaSheinbaum questioned the operation in which two U.S. agents —who were armed and acting without authorization— were killed. The Federal Attorney General’s Office (FGR) is investigating the incident and the complaint involving Chihuahua Governor Maru Campos. Regarding the governor, Sheinbaum noted that “her words speak for themselves; let the people be the judge.”

The 4T Improves Wages and Combats Fraud at the IMSSIn response to the conflict involving the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Sheinbaum highlighted the 8% wage increase, defended freedom of trade union association, and criticized the PAN’s opportunism. In addition, she announced measures against massive fraud in Modality 40 pensions to protect workers’ retirement funds.
