“Solidarity with Palestine cannot rest.” Spanish football coach Pep Guardiola has lent his voice to a new video appeal campaign from UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestine refugees, condemning Israel’s genocide in Gaza and its demolition of the territory, and calling on the world to speak out louder in solidarity. “Silence today is a form of taking sides,” the former Manchester City and Barcelona coach says in the video. “But we cannot afford to look away.” Guardiola cites more than 74,000 Palestinians murdered in Gaza since the start of Israel’s current escalation in October 2023, the devastation of Palestinian homes, and the continued obstruction of humanitarian aid from reaching survivors.
