She rejects Western accusations of Russian involvement in unrest in France.

On Sunday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova strongly criticized French President Emmanuel Macron, describing his condemnation of the massive student protests as an example of hypocrisy and double standards.

“So, when the French smash Paris, it demands uncompromising condemnation and harsh measures, but when protesters smash cities in other countries, we should watch in silence,” she wrote on her Telegram channel.

“What is needed is uniform standards, not endless Western manipulation of human rights issues and interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states,” Zakharova stressed.

Referring to the student protests that intensified over the past week, the Russian diplomat also accused Macron of stealing money from the French people to finance the Ukrainian regime led by Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Guns and shells instead of school supplies and textbooks — these are the priorities of France’s political leadership today. While billions of euros are being channeled to support the neo-Nazi regime in Kiev,” she said.

On Sunday, Zakharova also categorically denied accusations by Western leaders that her country was involved in the social unrest in France. “The EU’s accusations show how disrespectful the bloc is toward its own citizens,” she pointed out, and posted a video in which she answers the question of who actually attacked Europe.

“The beginning of the recording includes statements by European political leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. They talk about a threat that allegedly originates from Russia,” Akmu reported.

“Following are footage of riots and pogroms in France, Italy, and Albania, accompanied by the question: ‘Were they Russians?’ The video ends with a categorical answer: ‘No, the Europeans attacked the ‘blooming garden’,” the European outlet added.
