The inquiry, handled by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) under Minister Alexandre de Moraes, stems from an investigation into alleged crimes involving currency evasion and money laundering through sports betting platforms.

Investigators found evidence suggesting that Tomaz controlled the “Rede Loto” betting company, which operated with the Rio de Janeiro government in May 2023.

An analysis of messages, emails, and other data extracted from the lawyer’s phone revealed links to the senator, leading to the case being transferred to the STF.

The evidence includes an email exchange suggesting that Flavio was registered as the main user of a joint bank account linked to Alcazar Holdings, which Tomaz managed.

This case’s dissemination comes amid the Brazilian presidential runoff, scheduled for October 25, in which Flavio Bolsonaro is running for the presidency against current President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
