NEARLY seven out of 10 people support raising taxes on the wealthiest to fund public services at the Budget, polling for Unison has revealed.
The move is backed by almost half of both Reform and Conservative voters, with 74 per cent of people also agreeing that large corporations should pay a bigger share, YouGov found.
More than two in five respondents also backed tax rises for banks with a cross-party majority saying spending on public services is too low.
Chancellor John Healey is to present the government’s plans for the economy to the Commons next Wednesday.
