Folks,
Earlier today, Vox Brasil, one of the most reputable polling organizations in Brasil, released a poll that showed Lula leading 51% to 49%. This came along with other polls that showed Lula tied with Bolsonaro.
It’s clear that the framework for a comeback exists in Brasil right now.
At this point, the election is a turnout game and Lula has the boots in the streets while Bolsonaro is losing momentum and getting hit with various new scandals emerging.
Even Bolsonaro’s top lieutenants in Congress say they are worried about the effect that massive street protests are having on public opinion. Just watch this video of the energy in the streets of Rio de Janeiro.
Lula’s late surge in the polls even helped create the momentum for the Brazilian Congress to pass a bill to shorten the Brazilian workweek from 6 to 5 days, a 40-year goal of the Workers’ Party.
On Sunday, Lula and Bolsonaro will meet in the first debate as new scandals show Bolsonaro’s involvement in Banco Master scandal, the largest banking scandal in Brazilian history. Lula is a notoriously fierce debater while Bolsonaro has often struggling.
A comeback is brewing here in Brasil and it needs international attention. Its an inspiring story that when that we need to hear in the United States. Donate to help us fight back.
