Students from universities across Alabania took the streets on Friday, in a walk-out protest calling for better campus conditions, lower education costs and more jobs for graduates. The protesters in Tirana were brutally suppressed by police wielding batons, water cannons, and tear gas. They joined ongoing demonstrations led by the Flamingo Revolution, the months-long anti-government movement opposing plans linked to US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, to build a luxury resort on Albania’s southern coast. The protesters are demanding the resignation Prime Minister Edi Rama.
