Danny Dyer has sailed an inflatable shi*t sculpture down the River Thames while calling on the government to nationalise water companies. The former EastEnders actor then delivered a petition to 10 Downing Street on Wednesday alongside Labour MP Kevin McKenna. Anti-sewage campaign group SOS Whitstable collected 350,000 signatures for the petition to return the water industry to public ownership. Andy Burnham’s government has repeatedly referred to “public control” of water but has stopped short of promising full public ownership. Dyer’s previous interventions in UK politics include calling former prime minister David Cameron a “tw*t” after Brexit. After Burnham replaced Keir Starmer as Labour leader, Dyer also told the BBC the UK has had “successive prime ministers that are c***s.”
