PROTESTERS gathered outside Parliament on Wednesday to call on the government to make energy giants pay their “fair share” towards tackling climate change.

Politicians, trade unionists, faith leaders and climate campaigners urged ministers not “give in to industry lobbying for a weaker tax regime” at this month’s Budget.

Make Polluters Pay coalition co-convener Louise Hutchins said that energy giants are cashing in on war-driven price rises while lobbying to pay less tax.
