Folks,
Yesterday, we published a story about a new study showing that Meta has censored over 1,000 pro-Lula accounts. Now, Lula has filed a complaint with the Brazilian Supreme Court, alleging that Meta is trying to illegally influence the election.
The legal complaint by Lula against Meta marks the first time that the social media giant has faced legal accusations of election interference. A crime under Brasil law that could possibly cause a re-run election
“The scenario is,” the complaint said, “that of a platform illegally practicing algorithmic selectivity, in the midst of a fierce presidential contest.’’
We will have more on this in the morning, but in the meantime, check out the New York Times.
