One of the most important things I’ve learned in my experience with opioid addiction, and later recovery, is the virtue of honesty. Most people in recovery will tell you it’s hard to get clean without a “searching and fearless moral inventory” of your past transgressions. It’s a way of cataloging the times you may have been wrong, so you can hopefully make it up to yourself and everyone else when you’re ready. This process is necessary for growth and change.
