CALLUM SMITH’S bid to become a two-weight world champion is set to take place in Russia, despite the British government warning British nationals “against all travel” to the country.

Smith’s promoter Eddie Hearn announced on Monday morning the former world super-middleweight champion will face WBA, IBF and WBO light-heavyweight titlist Dmitry Bivol in Yekaterinburg on December 12.

But the Foreign Office has warned citizens of the limited ability the British government has to provide support in Russia since their full-scale invasion of Ukraine four and a half years ago.
