HUNDREDS of children are “growing up homeless” amid Scottish government inaction, according to Scottish Labour leader Michael Marra.

Mr Marra spoke out after figures revealed that as of March 31 this year, 1,290 families had spent over three years in temporary accommodation — 770 with children. That’s despite the Scottish government declaring a housing emergency in May 2024.

The same Scottish government data also show that the average wait in temporary accommodation for a couple with children now stands at a staggering 655 days.
