The coalition formed by Morena, PT, and PVEM must be preserved ahead of the 2027 elections, to block the path of the right and maintain the qualified majority in Congress that has made it possible to advance constitutional reforms, said PT legislators and the Mexico City Secretary of Government.
Interviewed in the context of the 30th International Seminar Parties and a New Society, the senator and national leader of the PT, Alberto Anaya, stressed that the alliance “has to be maintained, because it is a necessity for the country.”
He asserted that “there has never been a problem” with President Claudia Sheinbaum over the spaces each party holds in the coalition, and reiterated that in the PT “we are with the President in the defense of national sovereignty,” because:
The interference of the international right is all over the world and Mexico is no exception.

For his part, participating as a guest in the international forum that closed yesterday, the Mexico City Secretary of Government, Morena’s César Cravioto, emphasized that allies “must be treated well, and the PT is a great ally of the cause of transformation. It would not be right to skimp on its contribution to the historic process the country is now living through.”
From the presidium, the official said he hoped “that the leaderships of our parties rise to the occasion and that we consolidate a great alliance for 2027,” and explained that he was coming from Morena’s National Council, where the issue of alliances was discussed.
PAN “Is Not Embarrassed” to Go With the PRI in Chihuahua
The leader of the PAN, Jorge Romero, announced that in Chihuahua they are building an alliance with the PRI, arguing that “we are going to do what we have to do to keep the government” of that state.
A year after publicly ruling out new coalitions with the tricolor party, yesterday he justified that “if an alliance is going to be the factor that prevents the growth of the maroon cancer, of course we will take it,” and noted: “it doesn’t embarrass or displease me” to change the decision.
Meanwhile, Marco Bonilla, appointed coordinator for the defense of the homeland, said he is in dialogue with dissatisfied members of the PT.
