The NHC indicates that “heavy rains associated with the post-tropical remnants of Isaias will quickly spread northward, reaching the Tennessee Valley, the southern Appalachians, and the Southeast today.”
There are also warnings of possible landslides in the southern Appalachian area and intense rains in northwest Florida and on the southwest coast of that state that could cause sudden floods.
The NHC maintains a moderate level flood alert for northern Georgia and parts of the Carolinas and Tennessee and, on the other hand, a marginal warning that reaches states such as Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia.
Isaias is expected to move northeast across Alabama and into the Tennessee Valley on Saturday and Sunday.
