The film is structured around seven historical fiction narratives that explore different moments in Cuban history from a reverse perspective, connecting past and present through young characters.

The plot follows a group of friends who travel through different periods of national history, a narrative device that serves as a common thread to link historical events with contemporary issues.

Among the recreated episodes are events such as the wars of independence that began in 1868, the Bay of Pigs invasion, the Santiago de Cuba uprising of 1956, and events from the 1920s.

The production was a collaboration between Cubavision, the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), and the independent company i4films, following an evolution that transformed a proposal initially conceived for television.

Filming began during the COVID-19 pandemic and suffered a prolonged interruption due to funding issues, forcing the project to halt for approximately two years.

The project’s resumption allowed for the completion of filming with new resources and a revised narrative structure, incorporating elements that reflect changes that occurred in Cuba during those years.

According to Ali, the film aims to reflect on the continuity of certain aspects of Cuban society over time, using history as a tool to engage with contemporary reality.
