For the occasion, Ernesto Gonzalez de la Torre, a representative of the Cuban Embassy in France, and Marc-Antoine Leroy, federal secretary of the French Communist Party (PCF) in Southern Corsica, took part in a discussion on the current situation in Cuba.
The Cuban diplomat addressed the escalation of the United States’ aggressive policy toward the island, particularly the energy blockade imposed since the beginning of the year.
He also highlighted the Cuban people’s determination to continue their resistance while simultaneously moving forward, despite the difficulties.
The gathering, attended by many friends of Cuba, was marked by numerous expressions of support and a commitment to strengthening solidarity from Corsica—an island territory linked to Cuba by many historical and cultural ties.
“We warmly thank the PCF of Southern Corsica for the invitation and all the friends present for their warm welcome and expressions of solidarity, which demonstrate once again that Cuba is not alone,” the diplomat noted.
