MORE than 150 people packed into the Cypriot Community Centre in Wood Green, north London, last Saturday for the third annual Socialist China Conference, organised by Friends of Socialist China to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic.A remarkable number stayed for the full six-and-a-half hours, across opening and closing rallies and three panels: on artificial intelligence and the new quality productive forces; on China’s foreign policy and the making of a multipolar world; and on resisting the new cold war.
