“It doesn’t sound to me like Camden Labour is ending neoliberalism.” Ahead of today’s crunch byelection in Holborn and St Pancras, Aaron Bastani heads to the constituency to dig into the local record of Camden Council on housing, homelessness and more. The head of the council, Sagal Abdi-Wali is facing off against Green party leader Zack Polanski for the parliamentary seat. Andrew Feinstein, who ran against Keir Starmer in the seat in 2024, told Novara Media that Abdi-Wali says she went into politics because she was horrified by homelessness in Camden. But in the last three years, he says, homelessness has risen by 48%. Novara Media approached Abdi-Wali for comment. Watch our all-night byelection special from 6pm on YouTube.
