“We will do what we failed to do over the last eight years.” Spain’s prime minister Pedro Sanchez has been under pressure on multiple fronts. Now, faced with mass housing protests and dissatisfaction with his government’s failure to address soaring rents, he is gambling on a snap election in which he will need to convince voters that he can do a better job.
