The first march was scheduled for October 7, the anniversary of the electoral victory of Hugo Chavez, former president of Venezuela and leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, in the 2012 presidential elections.
PSUV Secretary General Diosdado Cabello emphasized the importance of that election day and described it as “one of the most significant” political events in the recent history of the country and the Chavista movement.
The main gathering was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the headquarters of the National Anonymous Company Telephones of Venezuela, located on Libertador Avenue in Caracas, where participants paid tribute to Chavez’s “perfect victory.”

The text reads, “This is how the so-called Great March unfolds in Caracas, specifically from the Cantv building on Libertador Avenue.”
Organizers reported that meeting points were also set up on Fuerzas Armadas, Urdaneta, Baralt, Lecuna, and Bolivar Avenues. The demonstrators would march along the seven avenues to the Corazon de Jesus corner.
PSUV’s Vice President of Mobilization Nahum Fernandez stated that the event aimed to demonstrate the level of organization among Chavista grassroots supporters and reaffirm popular support for the Bolivarian Project.
The activities will continue on October 12 with another mobilization dedicated to Indigenous Resistance Day. In addition, the Indigenous Youth Congress is scheduled for the end of the month, which will take place between October 25 and 31.
