THE family of a student who took his own life after wrongly being told he could not graduate have settled a civil court action with the University of Glasgow.

Ethan Scott Brown, 23, had been due to graduate on December 13, 2024, but was instead found dead in his bedroom by his mother, Tracy Scott, three months after he had been told he had not been awarded a grade required for graduation.

Ms Scott later discovered that he should have been awarded a 2:1 honours degree, prompting her to demand a fatal accident inquiry and launch a civil action against the university.
