WOMEN living on the front lines of nickel mining and processing in south-east and central Sulawesi in Indonesia are experiencing severe and disproportionate effects on their health, cultural traditions and livelihoods, Climate Rights International (CRI) said today.

A damning new report, Busy Surviving: Women on Indonesia’s Nickel Frontier, accused mining, mineral processing, battery and electric vehicle companies of having failed to prevent unnecessary and foreseeable harms to the environment, health and human rights.
