“F**k Bolsonaro! Stand against fascism and racism!” University students in the city of Niteroi, state of Rio de Janeiro, took the streets in support of Lula da Silva on Monday night, 24 hours after Brazil’s elections. The action was called by the Evaristo da Veiga Academic Centre of the Fluminense Federal University Law School. Sunday’s first round of elections concluded with Lula capturing just over 45% of the vote and Flávio Bolsonaro 47%, and the two will face off again in a runoff October 25. However, in Nitero, Lula came out on top with with 48.35%of the vote, compared to 43.71% for Bolsonaro.
