Among the targets struck, the military agency cited the Kochetok electrical substation in the Kharkiv region (northern Ukraine) and the river port of Vilkovo in the Odesa region.
It also mentioned several fuel depots and a cargo ship carrying military equipment at the port of Chornomorsk, as well as another vessel with military cargo in transit south of Odesa.
Additionally, the ministry reported that 199 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones were shot down over the western part of Russia during the day. The interceptions took place in the regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Krasnodar, Kursk, Moscow, Oryol, Ryazan, Rostov, and Tula, as well as in the Republic of Crimea and over the Black Sea, the military agency specified.
Meanwhile, the national air transport agency, Rosaviatsia, reported temporary flight restrictions at the airports of Gelendzhik, Sochi, Krasnodar, and Kaluga, as well as at three of Moscow’s four airports (Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, and Vnukovo), for security reasons.
Since February 24, 2022, Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine; according to President Vladimir Putin, its objectives are to protect the population of Donbas from “genocide by the Kyiv regime” and to counter the danger posed by the eastward expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
