TWELVE have been arrested after a racist mob descended on Gosport Marina following reports of the RNLI rescuing people attempting to cross the channel.

Hampshire Police said it used the Public Order Act to prohibit the wearing of face coverings among the crowd of 350 who gathered from Sunday night into yesterday morning to harass coastguard, lifeboat and border security staff as they brought 149 rescued migrants ashore.
