Contemporary anti-technology movements and different forms of resistance against big technology companies, data corporations, their data centres, and AI are often branded as Luddite movements, creating a historical parallel with the workers’ uprising in textile towns of England in 1779.

Using a generated image of workers doing… something… while wearing Home Depot aprons…
The collective ownership can only shape sustainable AI and help AI to survive from the onslaught of corporatisation, commercialisation and weaponisation of AI for profit. The new frontiers of AI and its sustainable development depends on collective ownership of AI.
This is nonsense. AI was always corporate and commercial. These things were not done to it, it began that way. You might have the hardware to run a trained model locally, but they can only be trained with large data centers.
This article is a farcical attempt to co-opt the anti-AI sentiment and subvert it, to suggest that “workers” should accept the current generation of machine learning models as another step in labor automation. What is being peddled as “AI” today is not that.
Large models (language or otherwise) will always be under the thumb of large organizations, either corporations or governments. To accept them is to accept corporate control, and to be complicit in the mass theft of decades of labor perpetrated by scraping the Internet for training data.
There is nothing of value here. Reject it, and move on.
