As Israel lobbyists ranted and raged against the convincing passage of a motion declaring “Zionism is racism”, they presumably promptly left the Green party conference hall to whine to friendly journalists that coming out against genocide somehow makes Jews unsafe. Because the conference has just also – and even more convincingly – passed a motion to implement ‘BDS’.

The Greens are the first major UK party to make the commonsense declaration that believing you have a right to expel and kill people on the grounds of race and religion is racist. And they are also formally committed to boycotting the apartheid, genocidal colony.
