IRAN’S top negotiator insisted today that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until the United States meets Tehran’s seven-day plan to reopen the strategic waterway.

The Nournews news agency reports that chief negotiator and speaker of the Iranian parliament, ⁠Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said that Washington made “some proposals through a mediator” days after the US replied ⁠to Iran’s diplomatic proposal.

The US should know “that the era of wasting time and dictating unilateral demands is over,” Mr Ghalibaf said.
