Flávio Bolsonaro, the right-wing Liberal Party’s presidential candidate in Brazil, made six trips to the United States during the 2026 pre-campaign while carrying out no in-person activities in four Brazilian states.
The visits intensified in the months before the electoral process began and were linked to political activities, meetings with conservative representatives and participation in events organized by that sector. According to investigations recently released by the Brazilian intelligence agency, the first trip took place in early 2026, after a prolonged stay by the son of former President Jair Bolsonaro in Orlando, Florida, at the end of 2025.

In February, he attended a PragerU meeting in Nashville, accompanied by Eduardo Bolsonaro and journalist Paulo Figueiredo. He later returned to the United States to take part in activities related to the conservative movement, including the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Texas, which brought together figures and organizations linked to the American right.
During May, two more trips were recorded. On one, he stayed in Dallas between the 15th and 18th, then traveled to Washington for further political and institutional meetings. According to the records examined, on May 26 he was received by U.S. President Donald Trump in the Oval Office. The meeting was later cited in various documents and analyses related to the Brazilian campaign.
The sixth visit occurred during a hearing of the Office of the United States Trade Representative on the proposal to impose a 25% tariff on Brazilian products. There, Bolsonaro requested a postponement of the measure, considering it could generate internal political effects.
The monitoring found no physical presence by Bolsonaro in Acre, Amapá, Piauí and Tocantins, the only states left out of his itinerary between January 1st and October 1st.
The disclosure of these trips comes amid debates over external influence in Brazilian political affairs. The country is preparing for presidential elections next Sunday, October 4, in which polls place current President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro among the main figures in the race.
