“Transport volumes along the NSR are steadily growing,” Putin affirmed during the plenary session of the 23rd annual meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club.

The president said his nation is open to cooperating with all countries interested in using international transport corridors.

The head of State also expressed confidence that Moscow and Beijing would establish active cooperation to use the NSR, benefiting both nations.

The NSR, also known as the Arctic route, stretches 5,600 kilometers and serves as the shortest shipping lane between Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
