According to the source, sanctions of up to 20 years were imposed based on the degree of participation and the actual economic consequences, which amounted to more than 10 million pesos in products intended for the family basket and school snacks.
The defendants were caught with seven 20-liter tanks of dielectric oil, stolen from a transformer at the electrical substation of the Havana Dairy Complex.
To carry out the robbery, they took advantage of the night shift and that one of the involved worked as a security officer of the aforementioned center.
The trial was conducted in an exemplary manner considering that these events contravene the efforts made by the State to ensure the production of basic food needs to the population, in view of the unfavorable energy situation of the country caused by the US blockade.
According to the TSP, cited by Cubadebate, defendants Noerlis Agüero Aguirre, Yoel Noel Ortiz Fontes, Andy Travieso Salazar and Ramon David Cruz Grajales were sentenced to 15, 16, 18 and 20 years of imprisonment.
Only Agüero Aguirre appealed the ruling, which has now been ratified by the State Security Crimes Chamber.
