ZACK POLANSKI said that Green Party electoral victories will push the Labour to the left today, as he unveiled rent control policies and called for Palestine Action to be de-proscribed.
In his speech at the Greens’ conference in Brighton, the party leader called for a “a three-year emergency brake on private rents,” adding: “No rent rises above CPI, wage growth or 2 per cent — whichever is lower.
“And in the long term, we’ll put in place a national fair rents guarantee to keep rents affordable for everyone, forever.”
