Attended by Cuban mission officials, Russian supporters of the Caribbean nation, philosophers, and historians, the foundation’s director, Leonid Savin, noted that the new issue is dedicated to the centenary of Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro.
Savin highlighted that the issue is not merely dedicated to Fidel Castro’s memory; it also offers a multidimensional look at the country’s destiny, history, culture, and national identity.
It features analytical material on the Cuban Revolution leader, research into the Caribbean nation’s history and culture, analyses of Cuban identity, and translations that open up new horizons regarding the island’s cultural legacy for Russian readers.
While presenting the magazine, the Fidel Castro Foundation director noted that it includes Russian translations of speeches such as Fidel Castro’s address at the closing of the Tricontinental Conference in January 1966, and Ernesto “Che” Guevara’s article “The New Man” (*El Hombre Nuevo*), written for the Uruguayan weekly *Marcha* in March 1965.
He also highlighted articles covering Cuban culture, sports, and history, as well as the ideological evolution of the Cuban Revolution as reflected in Fidel Castro’s work.
According to the Russian researcher, journalist, and activist, Cuba has a long history of struggle dating back to the 19th century and stands as an example of ideological continuity and resistance—qualities that generate great interest in his country.
