WOMEN’S TENNIS: Katie Boulter was beaten by Karolina Muchova in the second round of the China Open. The British number one had already lost twice to the Czech Wimbledon finalist this season, winning just a single game in their meeting at the US Open last month. Boulter put up a much better fight in the opening set in Beijing and led 4-1 before Muchova battled back to take it in a tie-break, then pulled away to clinch a 7-6 (3) 6-1 victory.
