Reform UK’s Suella Braverman doesn’t consider herself to be English. The ex-Tory home secretary’s comments on Question Time drew criticism from an audience member and a panellist, who said she was pushing the idea that you have to be white to be English. “What you’d done is basically just reinforce the racist argument,” the audience member said. “The amount of times I’ve been told I’m not English, even though I was born here.”
