Soaring fuel and production costs triggered by the US-Israel war on Iran have pushed Italy’s farmers to the brink. On Wednesday, farmers blocked the Via Aurelia north of Rome with tractors in protest, demanding government relief. “I still wonder why the people of the world don’t get pissed off about wars and keep pretending that these wars are only a problem for other countries,” said Alessandro Marziali. "It’s everyone’s problem. First, for those who lose their lives in the conflicts. And second, for us too, because whatever we do, the word ‘speculation’ always crops up. Speculation caused by war. Prices have gone up because of the war. We’re not being paid because of the war. We are sick and tired of the war.”
