Triana Poll told Prensa Latina via WhatsApp that the initiative is part of the university’s internationalization process and marks the third year of this academic exchange program between Cuban and Russian institutions.

The academician noted that the internship involves Southern Federal University, which is responsible for the program, Siberian Federal University, Pushkin Institute in Moscow, and Moscow Pedagogical University.

The current edition runs until October 18.

The program includes Russian language classes, researcher exchanges, and guidance for mentors on each participant’s scientific projects.

She explained that this dynamic facilitates research progress and establishes collaborative partnerships, mentorships, joint publications, and other cooperative initiatives.

Students Marlon Garcia Barata (Computer Engineering) and Lianyi Bisbe Montero (Chemical Engineering), selected from the country for this experience, are participating from the University of Camagüey, while Triana Poll is researching science communication.

PhD Joaquin Marquez Meriño, from the Faculty of Applied Sciences, is completing his residency at the Southern Federal University.

Lectures on Cuban culture for the Siberian Federal University’s students are scheduled for the coming weeks, alongside meetings with the institution’s officials to explore future collaboration and potential agreements in Computer Science, Chemistry, Biology, Linguistics, and Communication, focused on science communication.
